Rotork assists BAE Systems in naval base actuator upgrades

Rotork has been working with BAE Systems to improve a collection of A-range actuators to IQ3 actuators which operate penstocks controlling motion of ships between the ocean and transitional locks and dry docks at Her Majesty’s Naval Base Portsmouth (HMNB Portsmouth).
A series of A-range actuators had reached the top of their operational life after lengthy service in a challenging surroundings. BAE Systems wanted to retain all the benefits of electrical actuators, so IQ3 actuators have been chosen. These had to be specially tailored by Rotork to overcome issues around confined areas and difficult access.
pressure gauge ยี่ห้อ tk and IS gearboxes had been mechanically adapted so that each actuator and gearbox could probably be manually operated without getting into the confined house. Rotork designed special hand auto levers and thru drive mechanisms for the actuator and gearbox to eliminate the necessity for confined house entry.
Actuators inside the IQ vary are watertight, providing ingress safety to IP66/68 at 20 m for 10 days. They have a sophisticated twin stacked show with configurable information logger performance, and an absolute place sensor offers reliability and accuracy.
