Fluid Components International’s dual alarm FLT93 Series circulate switch offers an early warning alert to the potential of dry running conditions, cavitation and other pump issues that may result in emergency shutdowns and dear maintenance.

FCI’s FLT93 Series move switch reliably monitors the circulate and temperature of liquids, gases, and slurries. It is designed for pump wet/dry detection, the place sudden, unexpected reductions in media flow rates can leave pumps weak to over-heating situations that shutdown process lines and require troubleshooting and fixing. The SIL2 rated instrument is meant for heavy-duty, potentially hazardous course of industry environments and comes with a complete listing of global security approvals.
It has a no moving parts design and provides a strong scheme for pump protection with its twin alarm functionality. With Alarm 1, the switch detects a low flow situation anywhere between zero.01 and three ft per second FPS (0.003–0.9 m per second MPS). This low flow alarm is a pre-warning signal for the management system or operator who can then decide to maintain the pump working or to shut it down.
If an Alarm 2 occurs as a result of the feed line to the pump is working dry, this would be an emergency sign to shut down the pump immediately because the bearings now see gas as a substitute of a liquid as a heat transfer media. In such situations, the temperature of the bearings might rise very fast. Using a circulate change prevents permanent injury to the pump’s bearings.
